The Penn State Alumni AssociationWhat’s been happening: After graduation I worked for Armstrong Industries in Arlington TX & Lancaster PA. In 1983 I made a shift and entered the US Navy after receiving my commission from the Naval Officer Candidate School in Newport RI. The Navy was a wonderful career that allowed me to live all over the US (including 6 years in Hawaii) and to travel the world. Sea assignments allowed stops in countries such as Spain, Italy, Tunisia, Kuwait, Singapore, Korea, Philippines, & Bali. One of my ships was an active participant in Operation Desert Shield & Operation Desert Storm (1990/1991). In 2005 I completed a 6-month tour in Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I earned an MS in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School and earned a Master of Strategic Studies from the US Army War College. After more than 23 years I retired from the Navy in 2006 and became a government contractor. In 2009 I returned to government service as a civilian. I am currently working at the Naval Supply Systems Command in Mechanicsburg PA. I have been married for more than 20 years and have four sons-one of which is currently at University Park and will graduate from "dear old State" in 2010. My Penn State experience provided me the solid foundation that allowed me to achieve all that I have, and I am truly grateful. I consider my time at PSU as some of the best years of my life.
